What does your Session Fee cover?

The session fee covers the time and cost of doing business for the photographer. This includes driving, setting up your session, correspondence, editing and ordering your photos. Everything else is purchased separately.

Do you Travel?

When outside of the studio Lindsey can recommend many outside locations in the Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Belleville area. Just let her know if you are thinking downtown city or outdoor country.

How long have you been doing this?

I became a mom 13 years ago and decided to go back to work for myself and be able to stay at home when I needed to with my daughter. Over the last 13 years I have built an amazing business with so many wonderful clients. I love my job! 9 years ago I opened my portrait studio in downtown Ypsilanti and have never looked back. It's been amazing!

How many photos do we get?

All sessions are viewed at your proofing/ordering appointment. You will be able to decide how many you would like to purchase at this time.

A full hour session usually is around 30-40 final images in your gallery to choose from. You can purchase as many as you would like after seeing your images.

A Mini or Milestone session is approximately 15-20 final images to choose from. No minimum purchase so choose how ever many you need.

How do we get our photos?

After your session we will schedule your ordering appointment at the studio. If you choose beautiful artwork prints for your home they will arrive at the studio or can be shipped right to your door. If you choose digital images they will be received online via a gallery to download. I even offer packages with both, beautiful prints for you and corresponding digitals as a keepsake.

Do you retouch photos?

The basic answer is yes. I try and make sure during your session there isn't much to retouch by making sure clothes and hair are in place. However, all images are lightly retouched to still appear natural. If extensive editing is needed there is a $10 per photo charge.

Whats your turn around time?

Once your shoot is scheduled we will set up your ordering appointment within a week or at your earliest convenience. After your order is placed please allow 2 weeks for editing. Print deliveries can take up to 2 weeks depending on what is ordered. Shipping times vary but can be discussed ahead of time.

Digital images VS. Prints

At Happy Owl we make prints into artwork for your home. I encourage you to get prints made from your session. See the quality difference in what I can create for you. Prints start at only $25. Love looking at your photos daily as you walk past them in your home. Or maybe an album is more your style. We offer these too. Let's make some artwork together!

Digital images are available as well they are electronic images only. Not tangible products. I recommend beautiful artwork for your home and digitals as a keepsake. Some of my print packages even come with corresponding digitals.

How do we book you?

We can do a consultation via email or over the phone. Once your session is ready to be booked I will send you a contract/retainer form. There is a $35 non-refundable retainer to hold your date. If you do have to reschedule and let us know within 24-48 hours your retainer will be moved to your new date.

Can you help us with planning?

Absolutely! We can go over ideas on the phone or via email. We can customize your location, theme, props, feel (candid vs posed) etc. You will receive a look book for photo ideas and outfit suggestions.
